Lisa and Ryan are well versed in contemporary and photo journalistic styles of photography. They pride themselves in finding unique and fun styles as well.
Ryan started photography at a very young age taking photos of WWF (WWE) wrestlers at local events. His passion grew and he started taking photos of nature around Waterworks Park and along the Grand River. Over the years Ryan started doing modeling pictures and was asked to do some friends weddings. He loved shooting weddings and began to do it professionally in the ‘90’s.
Lisa gets her passion for photography from her dad. She started taking photos at a young age of landscapes and flowers, but her favourite subject was her dog Daisy. Lisa began taking fun silly photos with friends and that talent got noticed. She was asked to do all of the photography for her grade 8 yearbook. Lisa started taking photography classes in high school but quickly dropped it after having a difference of creative opinion with a teacher. Lisa stopped taking pictures for a very long time. Then Lisa met Ryan and he sparked her flare for photography again.
We met in 2009 and became friends through our passion for photography. As we spent time together taking photos, we discovered we had a lot in common and quickly became a couple. Together, we discovered we both had a love for taking long road trips in the car and taking tons of photos of our travels.
In July of 2012, we started Lyan Photography. We decided that our business should be a little different. We strongly believe that professional photography should be available and affordable for everyone. We choose to keep our prices reasonable because photography is something we both love to do. We do it because it’s a great feeling to capture the most precious moments in people’s lives. No one should have to blow their savings or start a new life together in debt so they can have photos.
We would like to thank our family, friends and community for their overwhelming support in helping us become a successful business
